What to do in Phoenix?

Are you new to Phoenix, Arizona and want to make the most out of your experience? Or maybe, you are a Arizona native looking to explore a hidden gem within the city? There are so many things to see and do in the area.

Here’s a list of attractions and activities available in the valley:

  1. Take a class!

Taking a class is a great chance to learn or create something new. There are tons of private and group class options available in the area that you could take part in. These classes come in various fields like fitness, art, dance, business, and more. One day you could be learning real estate and the next day you could end up in a twerk class.

Hiking is a great source of fitness. There are numerous mountains and trails throughout the valley. The beautiful weather right now might make the best time to try it out with a group. Go see what Camelback Mountain, Papago Park, and Shaw Butte Trail have to offer to you physically and mentally.

3. Take a hot air balloon ride!

Does getting in a hot air balloon, floating high above ground level viewing the mountains and deserts of Phoenix, Arizona sounds sound enjoyable to you? Lucky you, you can book a short hot air balloon ride with numerous companies like Phoenix Hot Air Balloon and Destination Balloon Rides.

4. Visit one of the amusement parks!

The current available amusement parks include Castles N’ Coasters and EnChanted Island. There’s a new amusement park in the works for Glendale, Arizona. From the looks of the plans, it’s going to be apart of a massive resort, Crystal Lagoons Island Resort. It’s expected to be open to the public by 2022.

5. Visit one of the major tourist attractions!

Arizona has so much beauty to offer, have you seen it all. There’s a Phoenix Art Museum, the Phoenix Zoo, the Desert Botanical Gardens, the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Az and more.

6. Make New Friends!

Meeting new people does not have to be rocket science. There are numerous places around the valley where people naturally frequent in large numbers. You can visit Mill Ave in Downtown Tempe, Old Town Scottsdale, Downtown Phoenix, and more for dining, shopping, and entertainment.

7. Visit a Drive In Movie Theater!

With the current need to social distance for safety, why not enjoy a movie on a large screen from the comfort of your car at Digital Drive in Az in Mesa, Arizona or West Wind Drive In Az in Glendale, Arizona. Same access to your favorite movie snacks and popcorn or you could bring your own items. Make the experience yours, really get comfortable and enjoy the moment.

8. Go to a Sporting Event!

Phoenix has major league sports teams like the Arizona Cardinals and the Phoenix Suns, but you can also catch non traditional sports to watch like women’s roller derby. Of course right now with quarantine, rules of engagement are a lot different. We hope to see some normalcy next year.

9. Take a wine tour!

Thanks to the great weather in Arizona, wine vineyard are somewhat big here. We spotted apartments in Chandler, Az with a vineyard on the property. 10. Take a Segway tour!

Yes, I said Segway tours, like what mall security cops use to make their rounds on a property. Segway of Scottsdale Tours offer guided tours throughout downtown Scottsdale and Tempe via Segway, I mean do you really need me to sell you on riding a Segway for fun?

11. Release some tension!

2020 has been an eventful rollercoaster of a year. I’m sure everyone can benefit from releasing some stress. How does going into a room and destroying items without any negativity consequences sound? You can do just that when you visit Simply Smashing, “A rage room”, one location in Tempe, Az.

12. Go SkyDiving!

There are Skydiving opportunities in Buckeye, Az. and other locations. It can be the real thing, jumping out of a plane with a company like SkyDive Arizona in Eloy or a simulation, safe indoors with iFLY Phoenix in Scottsdale, Arizona. The question is, what can you handle?

13. Go Ziplining!

All the excitement of skydiving, but a little more security. You can have a fun and memorable zip lining experience with Arizona Zipline Adventures and Outlaw Zipline.

14. Visit a Waterpark!

It get’s hot in Arizona and I’m talking scorching hot, regularly in the summer. Being that it’s a dry heat, it’s imperative we stay cool and hydrated. There are plenty of water parks you can visit to keep you cool while also surrounding you ways to entertain yourself for a day. Check out Big Surf Waterpark in Tempe, Arizona and Golfland Sunsplash in Mesa, Arizona for starters.

15. Go Bowling!

Get competitive with some friends hit a bowling alley and enjoy snacks and drinks. It’s an opportunity to have snack foods and entertainment with a group all in one. This can also be a great solo activity if you need a moment to clear your thoughts. AMF, Bowlmor and Bowlero are three major bowling brands, looks like they belong to the same parent company and they have multiple locations throughout the valley.

16. Go Shopping!

You can find all types of excitement in a mall and let’s not forget the stress benefits of retail therapy. There are several in the valley, all providing a different vibe and assortment of stores available. You can visit Arizona Mills an indoor outlet mall in Tempe, Arizona, Scottsdale Fashion Square an upscale mall in Scottsdale, Arizona, Westgate Entertaintment District in Glendale, Arizona, and so much more. Choose from indoor and outdoor mall shopping experiences.

17. Join a Scavenger Hunt!

There are local businesses that host scavengers hunts regularly throughout the valley for fun. This is a great opportunity to explore and learn about Phoenix in a new and unique way. Take a look at Let’s Roam and Urban Adventure Quest, get a group together, and get hunting.

18. Enjoy a Staycation!

There are many beautiful hotels and resorts throughout Phoenix, Arizona. You can visit the massive Arizona Grand Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona, the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park or maybe a unique space for rent on Airbnb. Book a room for a day or two and enjoy the new experience like a brand new person to the valley. 19. Take a day to just explore!

This is not only fun but very beneficial. Maybe… you don’t know the area very well or maybe you just want to meet some new people and see some new sights. Take a day or two and just explore the valleys of Phoenix using the Valley Metro light rail or bus transportation services. The use or shared public transportation also helps the environment and your personal fitness.

20. Go on a Day Trip!

Let’s say you absolutely just have to get out of the city or you think you have seen enough of Phoenix… you are in luck. You can easily plan a day trip to one of the surrounding states; Nevada, California, or New Mexico. These states are so close you have the option of flying for a good rate, driving yourself to cut costs and have your own transportation, or carpooling with a group and save even more money.
